Success starts with support

Breastfeeding is among the most natural and beautiful bonds a mother and child can share- an amazing combination of a learned skill and instinct. Compassionate, non-judgmental education and support are vital to a successful breastfeeding relationship. I work to help new mothers prepare ahead of time to begin with confidence, navigate concerns while breastfeeding, and help with transitions such as going back to work or weaning. Needs in support and care vary widely, and I work to support you in your goals.

Examples of my role may include education and support regarding:

  • Benefits of breastfeeding

  • Anatomy and physiology

  • Positioning and latch

  • Establishing an adequate supply

  • How to tell baby is getting enough

  • Emotional support

  • Partner support

  • Common concerns

  • Bottle introduction

  • Pumping

  • Combination feeding

  • Returning to work/ traveling

  • Referrals

Breastfeeding support comes in various ways, both prenatally, and postpartum, in person and virtually or over the phone, depending on individual needs.

“It’s because of Michelle that my baby is thriving at 6 months, and that I am still breastfeeding. Michelle’s kind demeanor put me at ease immediately, and she was so supportive. I would have quit a long time ago if I didn’t have her help.”
